Sanctum Inle Resort Maing Thauk Inle Lake
Set on the eastern edge of Inle Lake, Sanctum Inle Resort is surrounded by mountains, floating gardens, and the quiet beauty of Shan State. Inle Lake is one of Myanmar's most unique destinations, known for its villages built on stilts, traditional leg-rowing fishermen, and peaceful waterways that wind through the surrounding hills.
Beyond the lake, Shan State is a place of cool mountain air, green landscapes, vibrant cuisine and a slower, more relaxed way of life. We are excited to bring our loved ones together in one of our favorite places to celebrate and spend a few special days with us.

Yangon to the lake
By air
A short flight from Yangon to Heho, then an hour drive into Maing Thauk village where the venue is located. Compare fares at flymya.com.
By road
A 10-hour road trip from the city to the Shan hills.
Arriving from abroad
International flights come into Yangon. Give yourself a night there rather than connecting straight through. Domestic departures are early, and the margin is thin if anything slips.
Book early
There are only a handful of flights into Heho each day and January is high season in Shan State. If you are coming, lock the flight in as soon as you have RSVP'd. Everything else can be arranged later, but that seat cannot.
Kindly RSVP by 11 October 2026
We would love to celebrate this day with you in Inle Lake. Please let us know either way; a no is genuinely fine, and knowing either way helps us plan.
Before you ask
Dress code will be confirmed closer to the date. For footwear, plan for grass, timber decking and a little walking. Evenings by the water get properly cool, so bring a layer you are happy to be photographed in.
January is the dry season and the best time of year to be there. Days are warm and bright; nights are genuinely cold by Myanmar standards because of the altitude. Pack for both.
Heho to Maing Thauk is about an hour by road. Put your flight details in the note when you RSVP and we will help coordinate transfers so people arriving around the same time can travel together.
There is wifi at the resort and mobile coverage around Nyaung Shwe, though both can be spotty at times. Download anything you need for the journey before you leave Yangon.
